This coffee was grown by Nectario Zuñiga at the farm El Oasis. This coffee was carefully hand-picked in order to select only the ripest cherries and then hand sorted to remove any defects. The coffee was
sundried on raised beds in temperature controlled conditions until the ideal moisture content is achieved.
This is a traditional variety in Colombia and most of the small-scale coffee farmers have this variety in their parcels. In the late eighteenth century, cultivation spread to the Caribbean, Mexico, and Colombia.
Until the 1940s, the majority of coffee plantations in South and Central America were planted with Typica.
