Banko Gotiti is located in Eastern Gedeb. Producing some of the best Ethiopian Coffee, it’s bordered by Chelchele on the left, Dimtu Hambella on the north, Goro Badessa, Guji on the east and Banko Baya, Guji on the south.
This coffee was produced by small scale farmers in Banko Gotiti, in the Gedeb woreda of Yirgacheffe.
Most of the varieties found in Eastern Gedeb are indigenous heirlooms. They adapt better to the environment and seem to give higher quality yields and coffees with the known and celebrated Yirgacheffe flavours with intense acidity, floral and spicy flavours. Coffee cherries are carefully picked everyday to ensure only the ripe fruits are picked and brought to Gotti’s station every single day.
About 10-20 thousand kilograms of cherries arrive each day from each sub-district.
Gotiti Station receives cherries from high-altitude farms in Eastern Gedeb. It possesses about 88 African Drying Beds and the majority is used for Washed Coffee. Gotiti coffee is well-appreciated. For instance it’s won numerous Illy Cafe best Ethiopian Coffee. All drying beds are numbered by code so each lot can be tracked
and traced to the farms. It’s also one of the major station for Tracon Farmer’s Direct Trade Program.
