Cultivation
Deri Bishan Figu Station is composed of 140 drying beds and a dozens fermentation tanks for both Anaerobic and Carbonic Maceration processes.
While mostly naturals are produced due to the heavy demand for this process and the suitability of the cherries, we are planning to do more fermentations.
Harvest , Post-Harvest & Processing
Buliye also known as Bishan Figu directly translating to water flowing on an opposite direction has been one of our top stations. Apart from the high altitude, coffee trees are relatively very young and picking is also done at a much better rippenes than other areas giving us an edge in quality.
This station produces very complex natural coffees due to the red brown soil that is very fertile but also the high altitude levels making the coffees mature slowly and less cherries coming out per tree compared to lower altitude growing regions.
About Hambela Natural
Guji is a is a zone in South-Eastern Oromia. Guji produces excellent coffee due to the land being an untouched forest for the longest of times making the land very fertile. Due to mining activity, it was illegal to travel to parts of Guji zone for sometime in the past and some areas just recently started producing coffee.
