Farm/Project InformationBustamante Estate is a 112 years old coffee plantation
and now is owned by the 3rd and 4th generation of coffee farmers. When the coffee
expansion was growing in Costa Rica, their grandparents came from Central Valley to
create and grow their families and coffee farms as well. This situation came to represent
one of the most important economic activity for this micro-region and little by little it
would become in a very deep coffee culture.
One of its owners, Mr. Alberth Monge (from Monge’s Family) is leading a new transition in
different aspects like varietal improvements (coffee plantation renewals), changing from
commercial coffees to specialty coffee, sustainable assistance to the farms, etc.
For this year one plot of Bustamante Estate called La Amorosa is coming with identity that
holds a huge history representing a whole coffee family that work hard day by day for
coffee people and the coffee future.
