Kiamiciri is a wet mill under Kabare FCS in Kirinyaga County, Gichugu Division. It serves farmers within Mikarara sub location (Muthuani, Njogu-ini, Wangatia, Ndurumbo, Riakithiga villages.
The factory is in the fertile foothills of Mt. Kenya altitude of between 166-1700 meters above sea level. It is located between two streams, Kabuga and Kiringa River.
The factory is managed by Kabare Farmers Cooperative Society which processes cherry from members who on average cultivate 129,695 trees on 91.17 hectares.
Coffee was first planted in 1954, the variety being SL28 and SL 34. Soil is Volcanic Loam. It has about 559 members who are managed by one committee member and one supervisory committee member. Currently, Kiamiciri Factory has 4 permanent members of staff and 3 casuals.
The members deliver coffee cherry and mbuni. There are two rainy seasons in the area. Long rains – March to July. Short rains – October to December. Maximum temperature is about 25 degrees Celsius.
