Kenya Natural is a specialty coffee production project. Dormans trading team is working hand in hand with our CMS agronomists team at Kofinaf Estates including: Tatu Estate; Mchana Estate; and Ruera Estate. All located in Kiambu. All is about quality with Kenya Natural. The quality control process starts from the handpicking of the cherries in the trees. Pickers are trained on the different aspects of the cherry, for them to be able to identify at the moment of picking the ripe cherries in their best moment. Before pulping, another handpicking process is done, to make sure, only red and ripe cherries continue the process. A floating process is done in a fermentation tank and light cherries are removed from the process. After 18 hours of fermentation, the coffee is taken to the drying beds until the moisture content is at 11Oo.The coffee then is taken to mills, for color sorting and handpicking. Once finished, a sample is taken and sent to Dormans quality lab for quality evaluation and approval. With the quality approved, coffee is packed and prepared for export.
