Owned by  Gatatha  Farmers Company Ltd  and  managed by Board of Directors. Has approx. 300 shareholders.


Year started

1970 when the shareholders purchased the farm from a British Settler, they decided to keep it whole rather than divide it up.

The coffee trees on the property are between 50 and 70 years old, and the great majority are SL 28.

The estate also grows tea. Tea trees cover the valley and slopes, and coffee trees stand on the top of a ridge.


Processing Method

Timely and selective hand picking is carried out in Windrush. Cherry is delivered to wet mill the same day it is picked. Cherry sorting is carried out at the wet mill prior to the pulping. Red ripe cheries are separated from underipes, overipes and foreign matter. Processing utilizes clean river water (wet processing) that is recirculated before disposal into seepage pits. Sun drying on raised tables is done before delivery of the coffee to the dry mill for secondary processing.
