This coffee is produced by approximately 30 small coffee producers from communities near Belén de Umbría in the Department of Risaralda in Colombia. The average size of each farm is between nine to fifteen acres. In addition to coffee, farmers are also cultivating bananas and pineapples. The main varietal of coffee cultivated by producers of Supremo Sofía is Castillo and most of this harvest is from April through August.
